Valey Weddings
Cinema Is Our Language
Founded by Rodrigo Leyva. Crafted with precision. Told with soul.
Our Philosophy
We Don't Document Weddings.
We Compose Cinema.
Valey Weddings was built on the belief that your love story deserves more than a recording — it deserves to be crafted as cinema. Every frame, every transition, every note of music is chosen with intention.
From the soft, nervous light of a morning preparation to the electric joy of a midnight dance floor — we see stories where others see moments. We compose with light, edit with emotion, and deliver films that feel like they belong on the big screen. This is the difference between documentation and cinema.
Heritage Meets Precision
Valey Weddings was founded by Rodrigo Leyva — a second-generation Mexican photographer who grew up immersed in the world of visual storytelling. Surrounded by lenses and light from an early age, he developed an intuitive understanding of composition, timing, and the power of a single frame.
Where most cinematographers see a wedding, Rodrigo sees a narrative waiting to unfold. Light angles, camera trajectories, audio environments — every variable is considered before the first frame is captured. His trained eye and meticulous approach ensure that every transition is purposeful and every moment feels intentional.
What started as a passion for capturing real moments evolved into Valey Weddings — a studio dedicated to telling love stories through an editorial, cinematic lens. Today, Valey serves discerning couples across Tulum, San Miguel de Allende, Puerto Vallarta, Los Cabos, and Mexico's most breathtaking destinations.

The Journey
From a single DSLR in Mexico City to international recognition — the milestones that shaped Valey Weddings into one of Mexico's premier wedding cinematography studios.
The First Frame
Rodrigo films his first wedding at Hacienda San Gabriel in Mexico City — an intimate 40-guest ceremony. Shot on a single DSLR and edited over three sleepless weeks, the film receives an overwhelming response that ignites a passion for cinematic storytelling.
Valey Is Born
With a growing portfolio of destination weddings and a clear artistic vision, Rodrigo officially founds Valey Weddings. The name reflects a new perspective — blending meticulous craftsmanship with the soul of cinematic storytelling.
International Reach
Valey films its first international destination wedding at a cliffside villa in Puerto Vallarta. Couples from the United States, Canada, and Europe begin booking Valey for weddings across Tulum, San Miguel de Allende, Los Cabos, and beyond.
Editorial Recognition
Valey's work catches the attention of Vogue Weddings México and leading international wedding publications. The signature editorial style — cinematic, emotionally authentic, and technically flawless — becomes recognized across the luxury wedding industry.
Expanding the Vision
Valey expands into fine-art wedding photography, a curated store of prints and films, and educational content for aspiring cinematographers. The mission remains the same: tell love stories with the care, craft, and cinematic excellence they deserve.
Why Valey?
It's Not a Typo. It's Intentional.
Yes, it's spelled V-A-L-E-Y — not Valley. The name is not a geographic reference and not a misspelling. It is a deliberate brand identity, chosen to represent a fresh, modern perspective in the world of wedding cinematography. When Rodrigo founded the studio, he wanted a name that felt personal, distinctive, and impossible to confuse with anyone else.
The name draws from the idea of a "vale" — a valley, a sheltered place where stories unfold naturally. But the spelling was intentionally altered. Tradition bent forward. Heritage reshaped for a new generation. This is the Valey philosophy in a single word: respect the past, but never be bound by it.
Just as every wedding is one of a kind, so is our name — and so is every film we create. Valey is not a typo. It is a statement.
The Valey Difference
Three principles that define every film we create — and why discerning couples across Mexico and beyond choose Valey Weddings for the most important day of their lives.
Cinematic Editorial
We shoot on cinema-grade cameras — including Blackmagic and Sony FX series — and spend 40+ hours on color grading in DaVinci Resolve to create films with the tonal depth, contrast, and warmth of a feature film. Every frame is intentional. Every transition is purposeful.
Thoughtful Craft
Every film begins long before the wedding day. We scout venues at golden hour, map every shot sequence, and plan for every lighting condition. Meticulous preparation is the invisible foundation behind every unforgettable moment we capture.
Artistic Heritage
Second-generation photographer. Trained from childhood under his father's mentorship to see light, composition, and the decisive moment before it happens. This lifetime of visual storytelling — combined with a trained eye for detail — shapes every film and photograph that leaves our studio.
